What would happen if I ignore a photo enforced speeding ticket from Arizona?

I live in CA and recently received a speeding ticket by mail. I was not aware that I was speeding and thus don’t agree with the ticket.
I have read many articles on many websites stating that mailing tickets is against AZ state law.
Is that true and would the best steps to take then to avoid paying the fine is to ignore the ticket?

Not being aware that you were speeding isn’t a defense. I’ve often glanced down and realized I’m going faster then I realized. So, that doesn’t fly.

After reading lots of questions here along the lines of “I went to apply for something/got stopped/whatever and then found out I had a warrent for something I forgot/ignored”, I wouldn’t take the chance. With everything linked by computers, it’s not work it.
