If I Change A Song’s Tempo, Does That Void It’s Copyright?
I’m editing a film and I NEED a specific, VERY POPULAR song from the 1970′s to complete this certain scene. To avoid being sued, I had a music producer speed up select samples of the song and add a drumline to it. Am I still under penalty of the song’s copyrights or not?
No that would not void it’s copyright. I think you’d really have to change it up. This question may be better in the Law section.
