How do I beat a speeding ticket in Albany, NY?
I was pulled over yesterday in Albany, NY for going 20 miles over the speed limit on I-90 E. An officer caught me on radar going 85 mph, and I was issued a ticket for Speeding in Zone (VTL section 1180D). I now need to decide whether I will plead guilty or not. I’m from Rhode Island, so I need to determine whether it’s worth trying to beat the ticket in Albany.
What are some good defenses I might be able to use or you have used before? I was involved in a hit-and-run in ’08 (this was not brought to court) and another accident this year, both in RI, and this is my first citation for speeding. Is this worth fighting, or should I just please guilty? What kind of punishment may I face?
If you were ‘man enough’ to speed – you should be man enough to pay the fine.
