California Law Speeding Ticket
2009

Got a ticket 16 days before I ship (NAVY EOD) what to do?
could this hurt me in any way? it was a speeding ticket, 90 in a 65 on the five freeway in California. It is my first and only ticket, and I have never been in any other trouble with the law.
ship to boot camp
First, what do you mean, “before you ship”?
If you are a current Navy EOD Technician and about to be deployed; then, you should talk to your LCPO. Or just pay up, if you are guilty.
If you are about to go to boot and not yet in an EOD Pipeline, then you should talk to the recruiter or whoever that is in charge of you.
If you are already in EOD Pipeline, you should notify someone in your command, there will be no B.S. before the investigators for the Secret Clearance find out on their own.
In any case, be responsible for your action and pay up.
Good luck & Go Crabs!!!
Edit: Talk to your recruiter or MEPS Detailer/Case Handler. Traffic ticket is just a minor offense and it should not effect anything. Be honest now and don’t let the investigators (for the Secret Clearance) find out on their own; it will not look good for you if that is the case. And just pay up the ticket and don’t get another one (I know that in a “Military Town” like San Diego the cops are not as kind to the (future) military folks, unlike Chicago Area.
