Do you think the State of California will launch the old 55 mph law due to the recent gas crisis?

Back in the 1970 state California law imposed a 55 mph on most highways to help conserve gasoline. The California highway system was originally designed to allow drivers to travel at speeds up to 85 miles per hour. But at that time, 85 mph was too fast and lost the excess gas. In the 1990's in California increased the speed limit to 65 miles per hour, because the price of gas was very cheap. Now we're going through another gas crisis, do you think the state of California will bring back the old law of 55 mph speed limit on most roads?

I do not think it is very likely to be completely honest with you. The government seems to trust us with all that oil so they can have some sort of legitimacy to this "war against Iraq." They want the oil, no doubt about it. It's a huge conflict of interest. Also, when is the last time you heard the government is really doing something to help resolve problems of small town?
