What are the laws on taking learner drivers out?

One of my friends would play the test in a few months and I do not know if legally could get in a car with her as she is driving to help get some more experience driving. She has a provisional license from the United Kingdom of driving, the car would be in his and her own insurance. Im 24 and have been driving for 4 1 / 2 years and have no convictions or speeding driving fines. I thought I read somewhere that you have to be 25 and driving for 5 years to get a student, but I'm not sure.
