How long it takes for the DVLA to send a ticket for speeding?

I could have caught breaking the speed limit yesterday, and now I'm expecting a letter from DVLA. How long is what they have with you if I have caught speeding? and how many points was allowed to have to keep up your license? and do not understand your system. Thanks

It is not the DVLA send you a fine, but the police force in the area who were going through. Have send the notice within six weeks of the offense, I believe. You may have been lucky if there is no film or film was finished in the camera that succeeded without interruption, so do not lose hope.
