where should i go to be a police officer?

I live in Cleveland… i took the civil service test to work for the Cleveland police and did REALLY well, 95% and was essentially told id be in a very soon upcoming academy class. great right? well today the entire first academy class was laid off so now there are 70 or so newly trained men and women running around north east ohio looking for work… so now the small communities that have room for one or two new recruits are gonna take these people (obviously) because they wont have to pay to train them… so now here i am.. A 21 year old female, college graduate as of 5/9/10 B.S. in legal studies probably a 2.6 GPA, never convicted of any crime, one speeding ticket, never experimented with any drug.. hell ive never even smoked a cigarette… and all i want in life is to be a police officer… ive wanted this forever. where do i move to? ive heard the southwest is good…?

Jobs are tight everywhere right now. I’ve heard Texas has faired pretty well through this recession, you might try there.
