edmonton speeding ticket
question about getting a speeding ticket?

so i got pulled over driving home from vancouver to edmonton (different provinces). i was going 135kph in a 100kph zone (i thought it was a 110 zone). anyways, the rcmp officer didn’t ask for my registration or proof of insurance. he just asked for my license and wrote down my plate and then the ticket and sent me on my way. Is there a law or regulation or something that says they have to ask for proof of registration for a ticket to be valid?

All the officer needs is to identify the driver and testify to the violation.

My guess is the officer had a computer in his car. Registration and insurance information can be found on the computer when he runs your plate.
