Fixed Speeding Fines
2002

Sentence for being caught driving in UK with 106 micro grammes of alcohol?
A friend (honestly!) was breathalysed and found to have 106 micro grammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath when driving. The legal limit is 35 as I understand it (so he was basically 3 times over). Its a first offence, he has 2 previous minor speeding fines (fixed penalty) – what is the likely sentence?
PLEASE no lectures on drink-driving – I know that its awful already and yes he was very stupid to do it. Sensible answers to the question only.
Thanks guys – there were some really helpful answers there. Obviously Northern Lad is a bit of a retard, but you get them everywhere I suppose.
Cheers!
(Actually I suppose cheers isn’t the best thing to say in the circumstances….)
Firstly i would say sorry to here about your friend I got done a year ago not a pleasant experience,I wish him luck.
I was twice over the limit and got 16 month ban with a 400 fine, but the ban was reduced to 12months on completion of the “Drive Course” this will be offered to him in court it costs £170.. Because he was done before xmas they will be less brutal he may get the same as me. Pass on my best wishes
