Got caught speeding in a highway.?
Long story short.
I was in the passing lane following a car, distance is about 100 ft.
I was clocked going 82 on 65. When the person in front of me had no problems. I already saw the police car, and slowed down to 68 200 ft away.
I was still clocked 82.
Is it worth fighting my case in court?
I have been driving 3 years without a ticket. ( Just two minor parking tickets ).
I have a good GPA in college.
Note: I wasn’t aware of I was driving 82mph, I was just following traffic. I realize I was around 80 200 ft away when I saw cop cars on the right, I already hit the brakes to have it down to 68 when I pass the police cars.
The police caught you on radar long before you slowed down. Once you’ve seen them, it’s too late.
If it’s your first traffic ticket, ask for the “traffic school” option. You’ll have to pay for the class and spend a few hours there, but the ticket won’t go on your record and your insurance rates won’t go up.
