Iowa Speeding Tickets Online

Online court records?
Hi,
Is there any sort of statute of limitations on online court records? My sister has several speeding tickets from the mid 90′s that are still showing on our state’s (Iowa) online court system.
Do these things ever go away?
Thanks,
Daisy
Thanks for the great answers so far….
Just wanted to add that one of her tickets from the early 90′s does not show online. I wonder if the mid 90′s ones have now become ‘permanent’ because of technology and the internet.
Her tickets were also paid promptly. I’m just wondering why anyone in the country can access this type of information…It seems sad that mistakes made as a teenager will be around when a person is much older and wiser.
Normally an “abstract” of your driving record only goes back to three or five years depending on the state you live in. Some states allow YOU to look at your entire record, but no one else but law enforcement may see the rest of it.
As stated before the statute of limitations is only the time between the crime committed and the time it may be prosecuted. If you get a ticket in Texas and don’t pay it or show for court, a bench warrant is issued; however, nobody comes looking for you. If you are found within the statue of limitations (such as four years) you may be prosecuted. If the limitations are exceeded, the bench warrant expires and there will be no prosecution. That said, you have to be very careful because the expired bench warrant does not evaporate and may be found if you come back to the state where it was issued. It can be like a rattle snake waiting to bite your A$$!
