i received my first speeding ticket…?

in LA, CA. i was going 15mph over in a 35mph zone(50mph-how fast i was going). how much will the ticket cost me? will my insurance increase? if so, is there anything i can do to avoid that?

The statewide scheduled fine for going 15 mph over the limit is $146, including assessments. Your fine will be within a few dollars of that.

Whether and how much your insurance would increase with a conviction depends upon lots of factors, including your age, prior record, length of time with the company, etc., so it is impossible to say. You can avoid your insurance company knowing about it by going to traffic school. That costs a bit more, but keeps it off your record.
