will las vegas nevada police dept. hire me if I have been to jail?

Is it possible to become a police officer when you have been to jail for moving violations?
The tickets weren’t paid until 5 warrants for arrest were issued and the person was put in jail for ignoring the law for a few years. tickets were for speeding, no insurance no registration and finally a suspended license. they also have neglected tickets in another state. I think not, but what do you think or know for sure?

Traffic Warrants are not considered “Crimes”. On job applications you will see a question asking if you have ever been convicted of a crime. Your answer to this question would be NO.

Now when police departments hire, they ask everything….crimes, tickets, fines…Your best interest would be to tell them everything. As far as it from keeping you from getting hired, I don’t think it would outright disqualify you. I would call the departments Human Resources or Recruitment office and ask. Each agency has different hiring guidlines.
