First speeding ticket … hearing after almost a year … pointers?

This is my first speeding ticket in MA and because misallocation of the wrong direction, etc, is almost 1 year since it was issued. Do you think the police will appear at the hearing? This was a totally inadvertent speeding. Passing in the left lane and did not notice the walk to move much faster! As soon as I saw the speed that was the case, I started to stop, but the police showed up in a car behind me unidentified. Would it be worth it to tell the truth? Any pointers would be appreciated.

Yes, always tell the truth, show repentance, and tell the judge to take more care in similar circumstances in the future.
