Marion County Indiana Speeding Tickets

What will a speeding ticket for going 70 mph in a 45 mph (work zone) cost in Marion County, Indiana?

I’m just wondering about a rough estimate. As far as I can tell, I don’t have to go to court, but I have to wait like a month before they give me the amount. I know it’s insane, but there wasn’t anyone actually working on the road at the time, and all the barrels were pushed to the side. I also didn’t realize the limit was that low or obviously I wouldn’t have been going that fast. Total accident.

I can only give you a rough idea, but here goes:
figure a base dollar amount of $5-10 per mile of speed above the posted speed limit. Then, in most states, you pay double that in construction zones where so many hiway workers are killed, even in the daytime. Then you add court costs and anything the judge can add, legally. What ever you do, when you are in court, be on your best behavior. Speak only respectfully, dress well, but don’t over-dress. Be clean and have your hair cut and neat. No party colors, no fashionable hair styles. And be contrite. Say you’re sorry and MEAN IT! Go to court a week before hand and watch how it goes. Or watch some TRU-TV when they are in court.
