Can I get an extension on my Massachusetts speeding ticket?

I live in California but was in Massachusetts visiting family and I received a pretty high speeding ticket. Yeah, yeah I know. I was going to fast. Anyway my point is that I’d like to request a hearing but won’t be in Massachusetts to appear in court to explain my financial situation. The only other option they give you is to send in payment. The problem is that I’m a student and am also unemployed! Hurray! So what do I do? Who do I call? A court house or The RMV? And will they give me an extension on the 20 days I have to submit payment? Or will they do some type of payment plan? Any advice would be great!

Call the municipal court in the jurisdiction where the ticket was issued.
