In New York State, for what crimes can the police arrest you? Can they do it for just a violation?
A violation is like speeding, jaywalking, and other very minor statute abuses. It’s well below misdemeanors and felonies.
Can the NYPD arrest you, take you to central booking, make you sleep there for the night until a judge is available to arraign you?
