Speeding

How can I sort out my New York State speeding ticket?

Please help. When I was in the US last May I got a speeding ticket from a NY state trooper. I tried to settle it exactly as instructed. I send it to the local County Court with my London address – there was no reply for two months. Then in July I called the County Court clerk – they said they received my form, but they could not accept a credit card payment over the phone – they promised to send me a proper payment form to the UK. Nothing has happened since then. What do I need to do? I have heard all the terrible stories about how people with outstanding penalties are being treated at the US border when trying to come back to the US, so want to sort that out or at least have a proof that I did everything I could to settle this. Is there an office or someone within a US embassy (like the one in London) where I should enquire in writing about that?

I live in germany and have had similar problems with parking tickets in the uk ……..The simplest thing is call again asap – then to cover yourself do this : Adjust the letter below to suit your situation then fax it too their office, email it if possible and most omportantly send it ”signed for delivery” :

I heard nothing from your office and so called mr/ms ??? the county court clerk on XX/XX/XX …..they informed me that they are unable to accept Credit card payments oover the telephone and would forward me a overseas information pack to enable payment to be processed.

Nothing has arrived in the last XX days.

I would sincerily like to settle my debt and hope you can contact me asap with the correct paperwork for me to send this outstanding payment.

I am sending this per fax, email, phone and registered letter in the hope i get a reply asap. Should this matter be taken further i will have this letter as a receipt to show my deep desire to pay this money to the corrcet officials. You will shortly receive a copy of this letter via fax, email and post ( signed for international delivery ).
