Glow plug warning light on Honda Accord at high speed?

I recently got a Honda Accord 2.2 CTDI Executive on a plate 54, been running well until he brought it up to 75 -80 mph and suddenly told to slow down and plug warning light began flashing, and followed him out manual instructions to restart the engine three times to clear the fault, which did'nt so slowly that drove home again by hand, luckily in the Warranty, but wondered if anyone knows what the problem.
