Ny State Speeding Ticket Fees
2006
Getting a drivers license in a new state to avoid fees?
I lived in NY for over 20 years, driving since I was 16. The year I moved to Ohio to go to school I was slammed with speeding tickets, nothing big, I have 2 or 3 unresolved, and a small lapse in insurance. Anyway, these fees add up to money I don’t have. If I get an Ohio license, and somehow don’t list my previous NY drivers license number on the form to apply, will I escape my fees? Is this possible, even if I have to start from scratch in Ohio, road test and all?
Your speeding tickets would give you away. Before your Ohio license would be issued, a simple computer check would show your tickets and that you have a New York license. You will not avoid paying for your tickets and will be stuck with the added expense of getting an Ohio license.
