offence code speeding
Mistake on Speeding Ticket?

I recently got a speeding ticket for being over the speed limit in a 30mph zone. I was over the limit because i had fallen from my bike and broken the speedometer (it was reading 0) but regardless i was speeding.

now, the offence code on my ticket was O8OO which when i checked didnt mean anything, but when my license came back it had the offence code SP30. is it possible to have these points revoked due to an error on the ticket?

Highly unlikely.

On the ticket should have been written what the actuall offense was.
They don’t put the offence code on the ticket normally (at least not the same as that which goes on your license). They would probably have written what the offense was, i.e. doing 40mph in 30 limit etc.

Where did you check the 0800? as it is not a code which would go on your license.

Besides, it would be extremely hard to appeal a speeding ticket after you have taken the option of fixed penalty.
the chances are you would actually get a larger fine.
