Ohio Speeding Tickets Points
2003

When does a speeding ticket go off your record? So like a 2nd offense now becomes your first offense and so on?
I live in Ohio and just got my 2nd speeding ticket (67 in a 55) and now if I get a third I have to go to court..I got my first one in November of 2008 and was just seeing if anyone could tell me when that one will go a way? Not so much the points (i only have 4 and you get 12 in a two year period).
I thought the cop told me they only lasted a year and then would go off but the points are for 2 years. My mom said everything was for 2 years..someone help! thanks!

You DON’T get a ticket off your record. What the officer PROBABLY meant was that 3 tickets in one year REQUIRES a court appearance. At least that was the case 15 years ago when I had 3 Ohio speeding tickets in one year. You are correct that point COUNT for 2 years toward a 12 point suspension. They actually NEVER go away. the state just doesn’t count them after 2 years.
