Oregon Speeding Ticket Prices
2000

Just got a 23 mph over speeding ticket. Is it a felony?
I live in Oregon, and I just got pulled over in a small city (not a highway) straight away road. I honestly didn’t think I was going close to as fast as he said I was. But anyway I got a citation of 350 dollars and a court date and I can not afford that ticket for anything right now. What are my options? Is my ticket a felony? Can court lower the price? Any answers are very appreciated
First, it is not a felony. However, 23 mph over the limit is reckless driving, so you will also see your insurance premiums jump up next renewal.
If you talk to the clerk of court, you may be able to work out a payment plan for the fine.
It is unlikely that the court will lower the fine amount, but you can ask the judge if he will.
