pa speeding ticket information
Out of state traffic violation?

I was traveling back to college this afternoon and I got pulled over for speeding. Luckily, the officer only gave me a “disobeying a traffic control device” ticket. Now, will the fact that I live in PA and have a PA driver’s license and license plate, but received the ticket in New York help or hurt the lenience of my fine? And speaking of the fine, the NY DMV site is obtuse and hard to find information on…how much do fines usually amount to? I’ve seen 100-150, with a 50 surcharge.
A fine is not listed on the ticket. It outlines instructions how to mail, etc. and the court will mail me back a statement saying how much it is going to be. No court appearance is required (according to ticket)
Main thing though…I’m from PA, I got pulled over in NY…will I have to pay more than if I was a NY resident?

It’s not outlined on your ticket? Usually tickets have the cost on there, along with the procedures for how to pay for it. You being out of state should have no effect on how much you pay. Look over your ticket and read everything on it, it may be all on there. If not, I’d do some serious googling to find that DMV and give ‘em a call.

Good luck!
