Australian Speeding Fines?

I live in the UK and recently got two $240 speeding fines from my holiday in Australia – I was going 108kph in a 100kph zone!!!
What happens if I ignore the letters and don’t pay? Will I have trouble getting back into the country?

Your License (international or other) will be cancelled and the fine handed over to the State Debt Recovery Service! They will then pursue and harrass you for the money! This can also affect your chances of being granted another visa!

Best option is to pay or if you read the form again you will find an address to lodge an appeal against the fine. Just a simple letter saying how good your driving record is, how poor and unemployed you are etc……Send it back and hope for the best!
