Speeding ticket in another state (Ohio)?

I recently had a speeding ticket on the highway driving through ohio, i’m from michigan. The officer told me that I most likely wouldn’t get any points because I am from another state if i just paid online, and in turn admit fault. Has anyone had a smiliar experience? Should I pay it ASAP and hope I don’t get points or show up to court hoping that they will drop the points and make me pay a fine?

Ohio is a speed trap ….
I got a speeding ticket on Interstate 80… I sent in payment 3 days later … it never showed up on my driving record . I was concerned because I have a Commercial Driver’s License and need it to make a living .
I know one guy who got one ticket a year for 12 consecutive years … all in Ohio. He’s a truck driver.
