Would the new cloak of invisibility that uses microwave energy help hide a speeding car from a radar gun?

Yes.

In spite of a previous poster’s comment, radar is ENTIRELY composed of microwaves. However, the only existing designs for a metamaterial cloak are spherical, so your car would look awfully funny.

The recently constructed example was circular, but was only designed to operate in two dimensions, not three.
