School zone speeding cameras?
Here in Akron, Ohio, we have these speed cameras set up at random schools every school day. If it catches you speeding, it’ll take a picture of your car and mail it to you with a ticket. I have four questions:
(1) How much over the speed limit do you have to be going for it to take the picture?
(2) How far down the road does the radar go? The radar guns the police use, I think they go 50 to 100 yards down the road. Do these cameras go that far down?
(3) What if you don’t have a front license plate on your car? Is there another camera that takes a back picture also?
(4) Is it illegal in Ohio to not have a front license plate? What if you damaged it beyond repair in an accident and it’s about three months away from renewing your plates anyway? Do I still have to buy a new plate?
These questions all say that you’re trying to get away with breaking the law
An adult would realize that it’s dangerous to speed
especially in school zones
and instead of trying to get away with it……you’d slow down.
1 – I don’t know how fast you need to be going…not much over the speed limit if any
2 – I don’t know where you got your radar information, but it’ll easily go 1000 feet assuming it’s flat/there are no obstructions.
(I forget the number we were given in the academy…but I know it was a lot farther than you think.)
Although, I trust KC V when he says they’re set to a shorter distance.
3 – I doubt there is a camera taking a picture from the rear
4 – it is illegal in ohio to not have a front plate. Your excuse doesn’t mean anything. You need to get new plates.
