Overseas traffic fine?

I have just received in the post a speeding fine from Scotland.
I was there on holidays. They are threatening to take 3 points off my licence and a 60 pound fine.
My question is this: Can the Scottish police take 3 points from my NSW licence?
And what happens if I just ignore the notice, will they send 2 burly policemen to my house and extradite me?

No they will not extradite for a traffic violation. I doubt they will be able to take points from you license either. What they can do though is block you from entering Scotland again until it is paid, or let you in then arrest you for having not paid the fine.
