AZ speeding tickets 3 minutes apart?
I was driving a rental car in Scottsdale, AZ and when I got home I got two letters saying I had two tickets for speeding. Obviously they have a radar gun w/a camera. Tickets were for 78 and 81 in a 65 mph zone. The tickets were three minutes apart — isn’t this like getting arrested twice for the same offense?
I assume I was photographed in two different places, since one camera probably can’t span 5 miles. Just for the record — I was going with the flow and actually was being passed by most cars, since I was in a rental and in a new area. (certainly not an excuse though)
Ouch!. Remind me never to drive in Arizona. You can travel a pretty good distance at that speed in three minutes. Check the location of the violation. If they’re the same, then you definitely have a defense on one citation. If they’re different, then you got hammered.
