Who to call when in a minor car accident?

I have been driving for 11 years and have never been in an accident, never got a speeding ticket. If someone rear ends me, would I call 911? It seems like I should be calling police non-emergency? If I call 911 after a small accident (no one is hurt, minor car damage) do I just say I was in minor accident and no one was hurt and they dispatch an officer non-emergency? Or is there a different number I call?

Don’t listen to Alyson, completely wrong. You ALWAYS want the police there to make a report of some sort. Calling 911 is fine, just explain that you were in a minor fender bender and you need police assistance. Unless of course you’re in a town where you know the police department’s number, you can call them direct.
