A good college laptop?

I'm going to college in the fall and go to notebook, but soon one. I'm wanting to put around $ 1300 on it. I was thinking about a computer IBuyPower but was advised not to use this site. Now I am considering the ASUS-C1 N81Vp xoticpc.com. What do you think? Im lookin for mild-A lot of games movies speed hard disk space. and hopefully it will not be obsolete after 4 years.
