Speeding New Product Development
2010

Purchase of new … CPU and motherboard. Do I get 939, 754pin?
I'll try to make a new compy to linux for development purposes and engage novice with sourceforge. No overclocking, no games. I have read 939 has a double-bit memory (128 instead of 64) and 90 ms instead of 130. 939 also has SLI, PCI-E and other trash. I have no idea what the hell does that mean for performance. I am a front side bus RAM-Ghz-Memory Channels guy a little speed when the computer reading the nanosecond-dualbit SLI memory is strange to me. I have said in the past to wait until the clip is 940 but it's expensive as hell. http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2688 Right now I'm watching: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819104245 CPU Mother Board http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813138271 For A total of $ 125 to 754pin. All general recommendations or reasons why you should go with 939? Thanks! Super useful information XD
If you're using Linux, not find any difference between a processor socket 754 and an outlet on a 939. Many Linux distributions have yet to acknowledge the socket 939! SLI is Scalable Link Interface and means you can put two video cards of the exact type of the same motherboard! This does not mean that double the performance of your PC, but it comes pretty close!
. On Linux the function SLI is disabled for now, as far as I know. NVIDIA is working on this issue and hope they find a solution soon. Linux is running on an SLI system, but only card uses a single video! :. (Reasons for 939 socket – socket 754 processors will soon disappear less! – Can you put a PCI Express video card the socket 754 to the processor power – 939 consums!.
