Who has been arrested for speeding in a work area in the New York State Thruway again? What are the penalties?

I have a ticket near Albany. 62 in a work zone on Highway 45. I was in the process of slowing down, but I do not yet fast enough. I plead guilty and sent a "nice" letter as the officer told me to do. Now, I have a court date in place. I really do not feel like driving again to Albany. In fact, I can not, because I work full time and I do not think I can do.
