Against a speeding ticket after the fine is paid?

I heard that a traffic violation, such as being captured by a speed camera or jumping a red light, police have a deadline of 14 days in which to right. I have my ticket for speeding after 14 days, but we paid anyway. Does anyone know if I would be able to play even after paying that? (This applies to UK only)

I think that by paying the ticket you have automatically given a guilty plea. I also found this: P. My notice arrived more than 14 days after the alleged crime.
