Speeding

I got caught speeding in Northern Ireland, in an NI reg car, however, I’m from the Republic of Ireland?

It was my friends car and wanted to know as she has gotten the speeding fine, would I get penalty points as well as the fine whenever she puts me down on the form as the named driver?

North or South, the registered owner of the car would get the penalty points only if she’s from the north, you can’t get penalty points as it’s not your car that the offense took place in/with, and as you are from the south you wouldn’t get any on your license anyway because it happened up there. I think if she names you as the driver of her car at the time she can get in trouble for other stuff too.
