How much do a speeding ticket cost in California, 81 in a 65 limit?

My very first ticket…limit was 65 and I went 81 so how much would that cost? and how long do it take for it to come in the mail?

The statewide schedule calls for a fine of $266 for 16-25 mph over the limit. If the officer had written you up for 80, it would have only been $146. Your fine will be within a few dollars of that. If the address on the citation is correct, your courtesy notice should come within a few weeks, but you may be able to take care of the ticket online.

If you can go to traffic school, that will cost a bit more, but keep it off your record.
