It will be a 98 Ram 1500 5 speed give an error code?

Yes No / Yes No / Yes does not work. Parking brake set / freedom, progress and going out, has no effect. I read somewhere that 98 and up Rams will not give you the codes and the need for a tool diagnostic reading. Any guys MOPAR versed in these vehicles later.
