Speeding

Why is it in a movie you see a guy running after a speeding car is he chasing it!! As if its going to stop! Se?

Depending on traffic, s/he might catch up to it. I’ve seen movies in which the person HAS caught up, enough to cause some damage to the inside and/or outside. They can hope for a traffic jam.

Also, it gives the pursuer a chance to get the license plate and perhaps ID the driver and any passengers.

If someone has been grabbed, perhaps s/he will try for a getaway if s/he knows someone is chasing them, even on foot.

Too, the pursuer might decide to commandeer another vehicle, which I’ve also seen happen.

There are many reasons to pursue on foot!
