Should I challenge a speeding citation for going 9mph over the limit?

This was in Texas and the penalty is $494, is it worth fighting or no?

Well, you really have next to nothign to lose save court costs, whic is trivial compared to the fines you are facing.

1-9 over is usually the lowest bracket, so you will eaither end up getting off 100% somehow, which isnt likely, or end up paying what you woudl be paying if you didnt fight it. I woudl do it just for the fun of it. Evn if it does cost you another 30 dollar in court cost to hold yourself a trial, i spend more than that on a typical night out to dinner.

Kepp in mind, that if the officer worte a ticket for a lower speed, they may rewrite the ticket for the higehr speed, and you coudl be fightin that if you elect for a trial.
