Texas Speeding Ticket Options

Arrest warrant for speeding ticket?
I got a speeding ticket in May in Missouri. Since I was working out of state during the summer I wanted to pay it online because apparently that was an option as explained on the information paper sheet that I got with my ticket. Well my citation number was not found online, so I called (after 45 days since I got the ticket) the state ‘fine collection center’ and the local court and nobody found my ticket. After that I sporadically checked the website through the summer, but the ticket was never in a database.
Now I got back to Missouri and I randomly check the arrest warrant web site and my name was on it.
I have Texas driver’s license and I didn’t update my address yet (since I moved recently), so I never got anything in the mail.
Am I in big trouble considering I was never able to pay the ticket online or through the phone as it said I should be able to?
Am I going to get arrested when I go in front of the judge? If yes, is there any way I can avoid that?
They won’t come after you, but if you are ever pulled over in Missouri you will be arrested. If you get in any other type of trouble, a search may pull up a bench warrant. If the cop is looking for a reason to arrest you, that may be all he needs.
You need to contact the clerk of the court and see how to resolve it. You may also want to get an attorney involved. A good local court attorney can usually resolve this kind of thing in a hurry.
I had an old speeding ticket in Virginia after I moved away. I paid the ticket, but didn’t attend the mandatory driver classes. They suspended my right to drive even though I had moved out of state. 10 years later I got pulled over and arrested for driving on a suspended license. I cleared it in court, but it was a pain.
Get this cleared up or it will hang over you for years.
