Speeding

I live in Texas. What is the law regarding the “click-it-or ticket” policy.?

Can the police simply stop your vehicle if you are not wearing a seatbelt (and they see this) or do like some states, they need probable cause to stop your vehicle, to wit: running a red light, speeding, no registration, etc…. and then, once a constitutionally legitimate traffic stop has been made, they also discover that you are not wearing a seatbelt?

florida just changed its policy that the police CAN stop you and issue a ticket just for seat belts………… came into effect about a month ago I think.

I would call and double check for your state, but can see each state moving towards the same as florida to be honest, after all it means more revenue for the state.
