tn speeding ticket points
I have my ticket for speeding in the first place and need help.?

I have a speeding ticket in Oliver Springs, NY in June from 60 in an area of 45 mph. Anyone who knows me knows that this is a one time thing and I'm probably one of the safest teen drivers in the world. By the way, I have 17 years. I feel really bad for speeding, especially since my cousin was killed by a reckless driver, but I feel you should have received a warning or my charges should be dropped. This was my first (and only) time getting pulled over. I really do not need points on my record, but I do not mind paying the fine. Any help what to do in court? (Please do not be rude.)

Not familiar with TN, but are you sure you have to go to court (some states to make arrangements for other options without tying up the court)? It may be that you do, being under 18 years. If not let you have a driver safety (air dismissal) class, the question is whether the prosecutor will take into account the deferred sentence. Probably going to talk to the prosecutor before going before a judge;. Tell them what you said here to really try to be a safe driver and it was a momentary loss of attention to speed limits. They do not deny they were speeding, or try to blame the police, etc Accept full responsibility for the infringement. If they allow deferred adjudication, you have to pay court costs and other expenses (which usually totaling about what you would pay for the ticket anyway), but I let you go for a certain period of time (30, 60, 90 or 120 days). If you can go without another violation in that period, the charge is dismissed and nothing appears in your file. Good luck.
