Toronto Speeding Tickets Demerit Points

Canadian driver’s license – speeding ticket in U.S.?
My bf from Toronto, ON got a speeding ticket in PA. In Canada, we have such thing as demerit points system where all drivers have a certain amount of points in the beginning and everytime the driver gets a traffic ticket, points get deducted. The less points the driver has means the worse is his driving record. Are my bf’s demerit points going to be deducted because of his speeding ticket that he got out of Canada? Also, is his car insurance going to increase?
I use to go to the states and raise hell on the streets; I’ve gotten tickets but I’ve never had a US ticket sent up to Canada that affected my demerit points. Now mind you this was over 10 years ago, but what I did hear was that if I returned to the place where the infraction occurred I (if caught) would be liable for the outstanding offence. And according to American laws (depending on the severity of the offence) that could mean incarceration or immediate payment of the fine. My advice to your bf is to pay off the ticket ASAP so it doesn’t come back and bite him in the @ss.
