Is a traffic citation on your driving record?

I got a traffic citation for speeding. The officer said he cut me a break by not making it a ticket and it won’t put points against my license. Is this still on my driving record as a red flag? I’m 18 first time this happened to me.

Yes, it’s still on your record. Some jurisdictions give the police the discretion of issuing less serious citations that do not impose points, but the actual citation still shows on the record. That’s kind of the point of HAVING a driving record.
