How many points do you get for speeding? (UK only please)?

I was caught by a mobile speed camera at 91mph on a 70 limit dual carriage way so my question is will I get 3 points or 6 points? Anyonehad a similar experience?

Guidelines dictate a speed of over 96mph will get you a summons to court. If you were indeed doing 91mph in a 70mph limit, you should get 3 points and £60 fine.

However….these are just guidelines set by the Government. If a particular force is cracking down on speeding, you may be unlucky. You won’t automatically get 6 points on a fixed penalty notice. To dish out more than three, you need to visit the magistrate.
