Va Speeding Ticket Law
2002

Is there any Laws in Virginia that require you to go to court for speeding?
I was recently told that there is a law requiring me to go to court for VA beach is there any relevance to this?
I got a ticket for 72 in a 55.
All cases of any offense, have to go before the court, to be adjudicated.
Now, if you pay the ticket, you waive your rights to a court date, hearing, jury trial etc, but; the case is then adjudicated as Guilty, by reason of payment and there is no trial date (hearing) before a judge or magistrate.
Court is if you so choose to appeal or to lay before a court your case rational as your defense.
Some courts do want to see some people to ensure they understand the implications of their speeding and the future upon their insurance rates and the affect of a guilty plea.
