I received a speeding ticket in Virginia, but I live in New York?

On July 7, 2008 I received a speeding ticket in Virginia on I-81 near exit S 50. The speed limit was 65, but I was driving like 91 miles for the ticket. I have and my reckless driving trial was on 06 August. I live in NY, and I was not aware of the penalties for drivers from out of state for reckless driving. Can anyone suggest me how to reduce the sentence, as it was my first entry and I have no idea if the points are added to my insurance.

Without doubt, get a lawyer. May or may not be possible but an attorney at the hearing give him a hell of a lot better chance at reducing it. If you lose 3 points for reckless driving in Virginia, unless they have reduced the attorney. If you can not afford a lawyer at least go to the hearing yourself, sometimes, the officer is present or not in a good mood and will be discarded.
