Virginia Speeding Ticket Cost
2007

How much do Virginia speeding tickets cost?
I’m under 18, but I’m past my 90-day temp license, and I was going 72 in a 55 zone because I’m an idiot. How much is that going to cost?
To correct the other poster, the 2008 session of the Virginia General Assembly repealed the civil remedial fees (aka abusive driver fees) that had previously been imposed on Virginia residents for certain egregious traffic violations (e.g., reckless driving (20+ over the speed limit)).
The fine would most likely be about $90, and court costs would be around $56. However, this could vary based on where you received the ticket. You may also be able to opt for driving school in lieu of the fine. (You would still have to pay court costs and the cost of the class).
You can check the Virginia General District Court Case Information website, for the jurisdiction where you received the ticket, and you should be able to find the exact amount you owe and your court date. (If it doesn’t show up immediately, the officer has not filed his/her tickets with the court yet/or the court has not processed them, but it should in a few days).
Thanks Jeannemarie!
